Bongos Dance & Training Studio

Positiivinen kokemus: Dance school in Helsinki with a big selection of dance classes and good teachers. My favorite classes there are the commercial and hip hop.

Mahtava kokemus: I had a very good experience at the studio. Large selection of different dance styles, sometimes with several courses with different teachers for the same dance style. This gives you the opportunity to benefit from different teaching styles or to choose the teacher that suits you best. If you attend several classes per week, the pricing is very good, you pay a monthly fee and can attend as many classes per week as you want. This is also a good way get a taste of other dance styles that you may not have known before

Mahtava kokemus: You’ll hardly find a place in Helsinki with the same vibe as in Bongos Friendly atmosphere, professional teachers, variety of solo and couple styles, training, great lighting and VERY reasonable prices!

Negatiivinen kokemus: The studio is ok, the management and payment system sucks. Lost a lot of money because of the lack of the management attention and weak technical side. Didn’t get any compensation. Idk maybe now they have better situation.

Mahtava kokemus: It's a great place. Love it for offering variety, you pay for membership and visit the classes you want to. (I'm going to solo ones, not the pair dancing) It is a bit cramped with many students, but the atmosphere is awesome. Perhaps not the best for total beginners, since many people attending are already high level, but if you don't get intimidated easily - it's great. I sometimes wish the classes took longer, but it's ok if you make it to two, one after the other, all warmed up already. And I miss Floorwork on Thursdays, it was the reason I started going to Bongos. Mobility class was also quite good! A solid recommendation if you want to dance and get tired in one hour XD

Negatiivinen kokemus: Olimme vuokranneet saleja itsenäisen tanssiryhmän treenaamiseen. Yritys seurasi valvontakameroista mitä teemme salissa (tilassa ei edes ilmoitusta kameravalvonnasta), ja päätteli näkemänsä perusteella, että pidämme workshoppeja (emme pitäneet, vaan oma itsenäinen ryhmä treenasi), teki tällä perusteella Bongos appiin tallennetulta luottokortiltani ylimääräisen veloituksen johon en ollut antanut lupaa ja kun asiaa yritetty selvittää, yritys lupasi ensin palauttaa rahat mutta lakkasi vastaamasta viesteihin ja rahaa ei ole palautettu. (ENG: this company made a charge on my credit card without my permission, didn't return the money and stopped answering messages) Lisäksi yrityksen eräs tanssiohjaaja oli kertonut tuntemilleni tanssijoille että isoa salia voi käyttää pienen sijasta jos siellä ei ole kukaan, ja kun tanssijat olivat menneet isoon saliin, oli omistaja tai muu yrityksen toimihenkilö tullut alentavaan sävyyn tiuskimaan ja käskenyt poistua.

Negatiivinen kokemus: I have taken 1 class at bongos during their end of summer trial period which was declared as open level. The day after I received a call from the class instructor, who is also the studio owner, telling me that bongos studio is not a good fit to me and that I should choose a different dancing school. The excuse was that I am at beginner’s level. But yet the owner made it clear to me that I am not welcome to ANY of the beginner classes. I do not think any fitness studio has a right to prevent paying customers from signing up for classes. That sure does sound like a discrimination to me (I even confronted him saying it’s discrimination and he didn’t deny). I’m pretty sure, although cannot prove, it is age based discrimination. I have seen other evidence while there. Or it’s just old good racism. For whatever reason it may be, there’s clearly something sketchy going on here. Beware.

Mahtava kokemus: Super dance studio with a lot of options for styles and levels. Easily accessible location and neat facilities. The teachers are talented, professional and care about their students.
